The word is already out that raises for Social Security recipients will only be around 1.7%. This is down from 2.8% in 2019 but still better than 0% in 2016!
Also, there is some new legislation moving through congress that could have an impact on retirees. It is called the SECURE Act-Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement. Among the items that are being considered is raising the age for mandatory distribution from 701/2 to 72. There are a number of other items being considered now that the bill has passed the House and has moved up to the Senate. We will work to keep everyone posted.
